Welcome to our Reception Class Page!

What a wonderful start to the academic year the children have had! The children have made phenomenal progress in just a few short weeks and have had so much fun in the process!
We had some encouraging comments from parents during parent’s evening such as:
“Their manners have improved so much.”
“XXXXX is coming home and wanting to practice their phonics and writing.”
“I can’t believe how much XXXX has learnt in eight short weeks.”
“He is more independent and resilient.”
These attributes you have noticed your children developing are what we work towards each day and could not happen without the amazing parent partnerships we have.
Our topic in Reception this half term is Celebrations.
Check out the curriculum overview to see what exciting things we have planned this year. The autumn 2 overview goes into more depth about what outcomes we will be helping your child achieve by Christmas half term.
Reminders:
- We ask for a snack contribution of £2 per week per child payable every Monday morning. This is to give children a wide variety of choices for snack and to ensure they try as many new tastes and textures as possible.
- Please send your child into school with their own clearly labelled water bottle, school do not provide or sell water bottles and learning is thirsty work!
- Please ensure coats, hats, scarves and cardigans or jumpers are clearly labelled with your child’s name.
- Reading books be changed each MONDAY. Book bags should still come into school each day. Please aim to read with your child each evening and comment in their reading records.. Snuggle up before bed and enjoy a story together.
- Family Reading will begin this half term. Days and times will be confirmed via letter, and electronically. If there are any changes you will be informed via text message or Tapestry.
As always, thank you for your continued support.
