At Westvale, we recognise the important role Physical Education plays in supporting the health and well-being of all children. Our goal is to deliver a broad, balanced, and engaging PE curriculum that inspires every pupil.
We strive to foster a positive attitude towards sport, exercise, and physical activity, encouraging our pupils to carry these habits beyond primary school into secondary education and later life.
Our aim is to equip all children with the knowledge and skills they need to enjoy and succeed in a wide range of sports and physical activities. To support this, we follow the Get Set 4 PE scheme, ensuring each class receives two hours of high-quality PE teaching every week as well as a range of after-school activities.
Due to our commitment to PE, sport and physical activity this academic year, we have been awarded the School Games Mark Gold for 2024-25.
As proud members of the Knowsley School Sports Partnership (KSSP), we also benefit from expert staff training and opportunities to participate in inter-school competitions across a variety of sports. We also utilise sports coaches from Star Swimming who provide lunchtime clubs and Beth Tweddle Gymnastics who deliver specialist gymnastics sessions as part of our curriculum and after-school club offer.
