Music

In music lessons pupils use their voices expressively and creatively singing songs and speaking chants  and rhymes. Weekly singing lessons provided by a music specialist brings children together to enjoy singing. Pupils are taught to play an instrument and perform together in an ensemble group. We encourage listening to a wide range of music. Each class also has their own classical composer and contemporary composer and the children learn about their life and music. Music is also used in a variety of lessons and activities to create mood, atmosphere and to help thinking. The Charanga programme supports teaching in KS1 and KS2.
