Welcome to Year 6!!
It’s great to be back and we are all looking forward to what will be a wonderful year!
It was so lovely to welcome the children back after summer and see them all looking so smart and grown up.
There are so many great things to look forward to in Year 6! We have many great books and topics to study, I can’t wait to get started.
Our first topic is World War Two, which I know the children are so excited about. Our first class book is ‘Star of Fear, Star of Hope’ and ‘When we were Warriors,’ which both link really well with our War topic.
In maths we will be using Power Maths to develop our skills further, starting with the place value of numbers up to 10,000,000!
In Science we will be ‘Classifying Living Things.’
Throughout the year we will be looking at the work of our class artist, Jean Michael Basquait.
PE will be on Thursdays – Please make sure that your child has the correct kit.
Please ensure that your child completes any home tasks that they are given as well as reading each day and practising all of their times tables.
