Our Governors
Hooshang Rahmani
Hooshang has over twenty-five years of experience in the education and skills sector, working at a senior level in Further Education, and Skills Funding Agency.
Here, Hooshang had responsibility for a large budget working across the Northwest and West Midlands, focusing on the development and delivery of Post 16 Learning. He led on and managed several large-scale projects including opening, closing, and merging Post 16 learning centres. He also brings a wealth of governance experience from within both Primary and Secondary settings.
Throughout his career he has focused on achieving the best outcome for all learners and widening access in some of the most deprived parts of the country. He is passionate about learning and believes education and skills development are fundamental to our future prosperity.
Hooshang is committed to supporting the school, ensuring that we deliver the strategic objectives and that we provide an inclusive learning community, responding to the everchanging world of education and skills.
Joe Gibbons
Joe has over 20 years of experience in sports, leisure, and education sectors. He is currently one of three directors of Enrich Education, who specialise in providing creative, innovative services and products for schools, supporting all young people to be physically active when learning.
Joe’s previous roles include Professional Football Apprenticeship with Rochdale AFC, Semi-Pro Non-League Football Manager of AFC Liverpool and Radcliffe Borough, Gym Manager, and KMBC Extended Schools Manager.
Joe’s passion has always been sports and particularly sports coaching where he obtained multiple sports coaching qualifications, including his UEFA B License in football and personal trainer level 3.
Joe is committed to ensuring the children in Westvale achieve in a wide range of activities and build life skills that will translate into well rounded individuals.
Simon Boyd
Simon is a Deputy Headteacher and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator of a two form entry primary school in Ormskirk. By undertaking this role, he has developed experience of educational leadership and management, curriculum development and special educational needs. Alongside this role, he works for Abacus North West Maths Hub supporting schools across Lancashire to develop their culture, curriculum, assessment and pedagogy in primary mathematics.
Simon believes that education is a relationships based profession and throughout his career he has always strived to form effective relationships with children, parents, staff and governors. Also, he is a strong advocate for those who are vulnerable and believes that schools should not only provide an education high in academic rigour, but also rich in enrichment and experiences.
Simon is committed to supporting the school by ensuring that school’s strategic objectives are met whilst maintaining a high sense of moral purpose and brave educational risk taking to ensure that children leave Westvale as well rounded individuals who will make a positive contribution to their community.
Hannah Chopamba
Hannah has 21 years experience working in the NHS and is currently practicing as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in a GP Surgery, prior this role she worked in a hospital in an admissions and accident and emergency department.
She coordinates and leads on Safeguarding across 12 GP practices in Liverpool and Sefton.
She is currently studying for a part time MSc at University.
Her main focus is working with families from deprived areas who may need extra support in accessing health and social care, ensuring they are given all the opportunities to live healthier and happier lives.
She has a passion for health promotion and ensuring the children at Westvale are happy, healthy and safe to maximise their enjoyment and education in school and at home.
This is her first time as a school governor and is committed to learning and developing to support the governing body, teachers, children and their families.
She is committed to ensure all the children are given the best start in life to encourage them to grow up healthy and progress to secondary school and beyond.
