Welcome to 1G
Welcome back 1G 🎉
Wow! How are we already into the Summer term? I’m extremely proud of how hard the children are working, they’re making so much progress every day and are beginning to see their own progress which is wonderful.
This half term is filled with fun, and we will try to take all our learning outside as much as possible to make the most of the warmer weather. Please ensure sun cream is applied before school and that all children bring a water bottle into school to ensure they’re staying hydrated. Children are always encouraged to drink in class especially on the warmer days!
We will continue teaching phonics through Read. Write. Inc. every morning. Books are changed every Monday, so please ensure book bags are in school every day, as we aim to read with your child on multiple occasions throughout the week. Children are expected to read a minimum of four times per week at home. It is essential that your child reads the same book multiple times, which has clear benefits for developing their reading skills 📚. We have lots of exciting learning ahead this year! We will continue focusing on letter formation, as it is vital for children to start letters in the correct place, write them to the right size, and keep them neatly on the line ✏️.
Children can have fruit (or another healthy snack) – NO NUTS – for morning break.
All uniforms, including PE kits, must be clearly labelled. Children are to bring their PE kit with pumps into school in their PE bag and will get changed in school on their PE day, which is Wednesday.
9 am – “Hurry in, let the phonics begin”
We want your children in school every day, enjoying learning and exploring new ideas, and growing alongside their friends. Regular attendance helps them reach their full potential and makes every day a positive, fun experience 🌟 This half term is going to be a busy one, with lots of wonderful activities and events taking place across school. It’s important that children are in every day, so they don’t miss out on all the fun and learning opportunities!
