Year 6 Summer 2

Wow!  I cannot believe that we are in our final few weeks of year 6 already!  What a fantastic year it has been.

We have got so many things to look forward to this half term.

The children will be reading a new book ‘The London Eye Mystery’ by Siobhan Dowd.  This book will give us plenty of opportunities to improve our writing further.

We will be focussing of problem solving in maths getting us prepared for Year 7 maths at high school.

Science and P.S.H.E will be about keeping healthy and looking at what this means and how we can keep our bodies healthy.

Your child will also be taking part in a project with Knowsley Crucial Crew and be visiting Alamein Barracks in Huyton, learning about community values and health and well-being messages, in preparation for secondary school.

As always in year 6 the children will be busy putting together a class leavers’ performance for you.  The class are very excited about this and would like it to be a surprise so please don’t ask them anything about it or even look in their bags!!!  You will be invited to come and watch it on Friday 15th July at 1.15pm.

Last but not least, there will be a leavers’ party and disco on Friday 15th July 4pm-6pm in the school hall to celebrate their time at Westvale.  I know that you all have something arranged for afterwards – which I know the children are really looking forward to.

I am looking forward to a lovely half term with your children but will be sad to see them leave Westvale.  They are a lovely class and I am very proud of them all!
